The 2010 Edge model from the Ford group will be powered by 3.5 liter V6 engine, which produces power up to 198 kilo watts at an angular speed of 6250 rpm and torque of 250 lb ft at an angular speed of 4500 rpm. The engine in the next generation Edge comes with the bore size of 92.5 mm, stroke of 86.7 mm and compression ratio of 10.3 and also will be provided with four valves per cylinder, variable valve cam shaft or timing and double overhead cam.

The handling, braking and drive features that are expected to be provided in the 2010 Edge model include
• Electronic brake distribution,
• Antilock braking system,
• Axle ratio of 3.160:1,
• Immobilizer,
• Brake assist system,
• Four disc brakes including four ventilated discs,
• Stability control,
• Electronic control through engine management and Anti lock braking system,
• Strut front independent suspension with coil springs and stabilizer and
• Spacesaver steel rim spare wheel

The exterior of the vehicle will be designed based on the new strategies and will be offered in different colors and trim levels. The standard features that are expected to be provided at the exterior region include rear and front bumpers, passenger and driver third row windows, passenger and driver power black door mirrors, luxury trim alloy on gear knob, metallic paint, roof spoiler, driver and passenger side rear side windows, complex surface lens halogen bulb headlights, fixed rear window with intermittent and defogger and windshield wipers.

The wheel base of the 2010 Edge model will be 111.27 inches. The length, width and the height of the model will be 185.7 inches, 75.8 inches and 67 inches respectively. The curb weight of the model will be 4078 lbs, while gross weight will be 5155 lbs. The maximum pay load of the 2010 Edge model will be 1077 lbs.
The interior of the vehicle will be offered in different design styles with varied features. Interior will be designed so as to compliment the exterior of the 2010 model and the features that include in the 2010 Edge interior region will be like front seats and rear seats cup holders, 12v power outlet: front and rear, cargo, clock, air conditioning, audio system with FM/AM and CD player, cargo capacity of 69.0 cu ft, delayed or fade courtesy lights, floor mats, cruise control system, and bucket driver seat.

The other features that are expected to be featured in the 2010 Edge model include floor covering, driver front air bags with multi stage deployment, passenger front air bags with multi stage deployment and occupant sensors, front seat center armrest, two height adjustable head restraints on front seats and three height adjustable head restraints on rear seats, low tire pressure monitoring system, front and rear reading lights and remote power locks.
The 2010 Edge model will be designed with safety as the main concern and will be included with the safety features like tire pressure monitoring system, electronic stability control, head air bag- front, four wheel antilock braking system, trunk release, child seat lower anchorage, advanced air bag features, adjustable upper belt- front, front side air bags, energy management feature, and pretensioners.
