2010 Equinox ready to hit

Chevrolet unveiled its new compact crossover vehicle, 2010 Equinox at the Detroit Auto Show. The new model will come with distinctive designs with excellent efficiency.

Engine

The power to the vehicle will come from the 2.4 liter direct injection engine that can achieve fuel economy of 30 miles per gallon on the highway roads. The new model will improve in mileage by 25 percent in comparison to the previous version. The exterior region of the vehicle will be designed similar to the Traverse crossover and Chevrolet Malibu sedan models.

The new model will debut in Detroit, next month at the North American Auto Show. The sale of the 2010 equinox will commence from the last season of 2009. The new model will be offered in three different trim levels- LS, LTZ and LT, with all wheel drive as standard on all the versions.

Standard Features

The 2010 Equinox will offer two different engines, each with variable valve timing technology and fuel saving direct injection. The highlight features of the next generation vehicle include-
• Standard XM satellite radio and Onstar system,
• New 2.4 liter Ecotec direct injected I-4 engine,
• New 3.0 liter DOHC direct injected V-6 engine,
• Smart remote starting system,
• Heated seats based on the outside temperature,
• Six standard air bags,
• Driving range of 800 kilo meters with both the engines, and
• Standard four wheel disc brakes with traction control and stabilitrak electronic stability control

The new Chevy Equinox will also offer different wheel sizes such as 17, 18 and 19 inch wheels.
