2010 MDX
Though not too many changes are expected in the 2010 Honda/Acura MDX, and the sole powertrain may continue to the 300-hp 3.7-liter V6 engine offered with a 5-speed automatic transmission, the 2010 MDX will offer a new design and more to attract the customers.
This mid-sized crossover SUV from the Honda group hit the roads in the year 2001 for the first time. The vehicle has its assembly plant located at Alliston, Ontorio, Canada. The predecessor vehicle to the vehicle is Acura SLX.
The model is marketed as Honda MDX in the countries like Australia and Japan where Acura has no market, while it is known as Acura MDX in the other countries. The MDX model is the first vehicle to have three row seating in the crossover SUV model. The vehicle MDX is related to the Pilot model released by the Honda Company.

The MDX in name signifies Multi Dimensional luxury model. The vehicle was released at the end of 2000 as a vehicle for the model year 2001. It was basically launched as a replacement to SLX model, which was produced by Isuzu Trooper. As the model Honda Horizon was dropped in the year 1999, the gap was filled by the release of the MDX model. The MDX model in the countries of Australia and Japan was released in the year 2003 under the name of Honda MDX and these vehicles were featured with the Kiwi type wheels and also with the DVD entertainment at the back side of the vehicle.
The MDX manufactured as the initial model, launched in the year 2001 continued with the same features and design till 2006. It was a five door SUV, available in a single engine model, 3.5L V6 engine that produces a power of 253 horse power and torque of 250 lb ft. It came with wheel base of 2700 mm. The length and the width of the vehicle were 4788 mm and 1955 mm respectively, while the height of the vehicle varied for the base and touring models, the height of the base model was 68.7 inches and for the touring model it was 71.3 inches. The MDX was closely related to the models like Honda Accord, Honda Odyssey, Acura TL and Honda Pilot models.
The model MDX was remodified in the year 2007 and is still producing with the same features and design. The vehicle comes in five door SUV model with the engine SOHC V6 VTEC 3.7 L containing 24 valves. The engine generates the power of 224 kilo watts at the speed of 6000 rotations per minute and produces a torque of 275 lb ft at the rate of 5000 rotations per minute. The length, width and the height of the vehicle are 4844 mm, 1999 mm and 1730 mm respectively. The model was unveiled at an International Auto Show held in New York in the year 2006 as a car for the model year 2007.
The model MDX happens to be the best selling car in Canada. The redesigned MDX model vehicle is one of the best selling vehicles in the country of United States too. The MDX has also won the award of North American Truck of the year in the year 2001.
