The Navigator hit the roads for the first time in the year 1997, manufactured by the Ford Motor Company. The vehicle falls under the category of full-sized luxury sport utility vehicles and is still under production for over a decade or so.

Navigators released in the year 2008 was issued with a measurement for the efficiency of fuel, due to which, vehicle gained fuel rating of 12 miles per US gallon in the city, while that of 18 miles per US gallons on highway roads. The Navigators released prior to this model differ by one or two miles per gallon.

The prominent features included in the 2010 Navigator are:

• HID Head lights
• DVD based rear seat video
• Independent rear suspension
• Advanced steering
• Traction Control System
• Roll Stability control

The Navigator was released as the model vehicle for the year 1998. The vehicle is related to the Ford Expedition. The model Navigator has its assembly plant at Wayne, Michigan in United States of America. The body style of the vehicle is designed as four-door SUV with front engine, providing four-wheel and the rear wheel drive.

The Navigator was released by redesigning the Lexus LX, which was on roads in the same year. The Navigator model was the first SUV vehicle from the Lincoln group, a subsidiary of Ford Motors Company. The initial luxury model shared the features of Ford Expedition like the platform, equipments and the mechanical features, which was released in the year 1996.

The interior materials and the upscale styling features differ from Expedition to the Navigator. In order to provide more cargo space in the vehicle, Navigator L was introduced in the year 2007 that actually provided not just more cargo space, but also spacious seating capacity for more than seven people.

The only engine offered to the vehicle is 5.4 liter Modular V8 model. More than 44,000 Navigators were sold in the first year of its introduction. The Navigator family luxury car was released as a competitor to the GMC Denali Series and the Cadillac Escalade.

The First Navigator model released in the year 1998, and Lincoln continued its production up to 2002 with the same design and the style features. The vehicle was manufactured based on the Ford U platform, providing the 4-speed automatic transmission. The vehicle offered two types of engines namely, 5.4 liter Triton SOHC V8 and the 5.4 liter InTech DOHC V8 engine. The vehicle had the wheel base of 3020 mm. The length, width and the height of the vehicle were 5200 mm, 2027 mm and 1847 mm respectively.

The Navigator released in the year 2007 was designed based on the Ford T1 platform, provided with the 5.4 liter Triton SOHC V8 engine and the same model is produced till date. The vehicle has the 6- speed automatic transmission, with the wheel base of 3327 mm. The length, width and the height of the vehicle are 5293 mm, 2002 mm and 1989 mm respectively. The vehicle was unveiled at Chicago Auto Show in February, 2006.

The 2010 Navigator is expected to bear similar length, width, height ans wheelbase, though the vehicle is bound to get a facial and tech revamp, including the interiors.
