2010 Q5

The 2010 Q5 is a new sport model from Audi that comes with good interior look and with the sports sedan features and it is also expected to handle all kinds of road conditions. The sports luxury car Q5 will be released as a competitor to BMW X3 Q5 model.


The new 2010 Q5 joins the luxury cars like VOLVO, BENZ, and BMW. The sport utility vehicle is expected to be released in the model year 2010. The SUV Q5 comes powered with the new 3.2 liters V6 engine that can produce up to 270 hp of power at the rate of 6500 rotations per minute and torque of 243 lb ft at the rate of 3000 rpm and comes mated with six speed automatic transmission. The maximum towing capacity of the model will be 4400 lbs. The new variant is expected to come provided with all wheel drive.

The new Q5 is expected to come with the wheel base of 110.5 inches, 182.2 inches length, 74 inches body width, 7.9 inches ground clearance and 65.1 inches body height. The curb weight of the new model will be 4244 lbs, while the gross weight will be around 5456 lbs.


As far as interior dimensions of the vehicle are concerned, it comes with the front head room of 41 inches, front leg room of 41 inches, and 57.3 cu ft maximum cargo capacity. The standard seating capacity in the new version will be 5. With the help of powerful engine, the Q5 model achieves a mileage of 18 miles per gallon in the city premises, while 23 miles per gallon on the highway roads. The capacity of the fuel tank in the vehicle will be 19.8 gallons.

The hybrid version of the Q5 model is expected to be released in the first season of 2010 as a competitor to the BMW X6 in United States. Based on the success rate Audi will release the hybrid model in European market too.


The safety features in the new Q5 will include, tire pressure monitoring system, anti lock braking system with electronic brake force distribution, LATCH system in rear seats (including third row), hydraulic brake assist, rear second row 3-point safety belts with automatic locking retractor and pretensioning, electronic stabilization program with EDL, ASR, ABS and off road mode, side guard head curtain air bags both rows, and day time running lights.


The other safety features expected to include in the new Q5 include front passenger occupant detection, impact protection with aluminum and steel crossbars, front passenger and driver advanced dual stage air bag supplemental restraints and seat mounted side thorax air bags.
