2010 R8
The all new R8 from the Audi comes powered with the new 4.2 liter V8 engine that can produce power up to 420 hp and 317 lb ft of torque. The new model will also offer 5.2 liter V10 engine that can produce 525 hp of power and 390 lb ft of torque. The next generationR8 is a luxury vehicle from Audi and it is expected that the sales of the new r8 model crosses the sales of the other luxury models.
The wheel base of the next generation R8 will be 104.3 inches and comes with the length of 174.3 inches, 49.3 inches height and 75 inches width. The transmission capabilities for the model will be six speed manual as well as six-speed automated manual transmission. The curb weight of the R8 coupe model will be 3605 pounds, while it is 3715 pounds for convertible and CG models. The model is expected to come with few differences in the interior region of the vehicle and new brand wheels upgraded brakes.
The R8 Spyder model is expected to be released in the last season of 2009 to the European market and it is expected by 2011 to the United States market. It is expected that the new R8 model offer more power and an open air option too.
With the powerful engine, the new R8 model can accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour in a time span of just 4 seconds. The choices for the transmission will be Audi’s R-tronic six-speed automated manual with steering wheel shift paddles and six-speed manual transmissions. The new R8 model is expected to come with the maximum speed of 196 miles per hour.
Looking in to the safety features of the vehicle, the new R8 model is expected to include with the safety features like,
• Curtain side air bags,
• Front side air bags,
• Anti lock braking system,
• Electronic braking stability and
• Traction control
• Stability control with anti-slip regulation
• Tire pressure monitoring system
The main features that give more strength to the new R8 model are its luxurious interior, supercar value, head turning looks and exhilarating performance. The aluminum space frame in the model keeps the chassis light and rigid. The final result is a vehicle that excels through the corners. The V10 sourced from Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 will be provided as optional. Outside of the model comes with aggressive and sleek lines that mix nicely with the large side air intakes and front air intakes and also to the 19 inch alloy wheels.
The other innovative features in the new R8 model include leather trimmed power seats, satellite radio, Bluetooth hands free interface, automatic climate control system, and auto dimming mirror. The entertainment system in the car comes included with Bang and Olufsen sound system, active noise cancellation, twin SD card slots for MP3 playback and LCD display.
