In comes the brand new 2010 California from the house of Ferrari
At the Paris Auto Salon, Ferrari has revealed its brand new creation, the 2010 California. The 2010 California has joined the 8-cylinder family of prancing horses, which is best known for the performance and power.
The 2010 California is much heavier than the powerful and bigger 599 GTB. The features of the sedan include the following:
• Engine: 4.3L V8
• Configuration: Front Engine / RWD
• Displacement: 4300 cc
• Horsepower: 460bhp @ 7600rpm
• 7-speed automatic transmission
• Wheelbase: 105.1 inches
• Base curb weight: 3825 pounds
• Length: 179.7 inches
• Width: 74.9 inches
• Height: 51.5 inches
The California is powered by a very new 4.3L V8 engine that is scaled up for the very first time in marque’s history. The engine has 32 valves in it. This generates a horsepower of 460bhp at 7600rpm including a torque curve which enhances sedan dynamics and thus providing maximum driving delight. The motor is very much related to F430 model, but still the stroke and bore are different. For the first time in Ferrari’s history, motor is directly injected for the boosting up of fuel economy.
The sedan uses 7-speed dual clutch transmission, which boosts up the performance of the car and improves riding comfort, reducing the consumption of the fuel and emission too. By a very new suspension system at the rear, the driving delight is still enhanced.
The 2010 California has a hardtop roof which automatically opens and closes in just 14 seconds by pushing a button. And regarding this, Ferrari claims that this is lighter than the cloth alternative. The picking up of 0-60 mph in just 4 seconds clearly shows the acceleration which can easily meet a top speed of 193 mph.
The base price of the 2010 California is around $200,000. The vehicle layout can be briefly explained as RWD, front-engine with 2-door, 4-pass convertible. The weight of the curb comes up to 3800 lb. The wheel base is 105.1 inches and each is lightweight with 19 inches. The car’s dimensions explain that the car is 179.6 inches long, 74.9 inches wide and of 51.5 inches height.
The additional standards are to be confirmed but it is understandable that there will be a lot of features like MP3 connectivity, power assists, and fashionable leather lined interior with original aluminium and carbon fibre accents, premium audio and automatic climate control.
