New BMW X6 M Review

When we saw the dawn of BMW X6, we thought that it was the top end of the best. The new BMW X6 M just defied it with its first release in 2010.

Known for its sleeker design and powerful engine, X6 M is largely inspired from none other than the regular X6 model.

Of course, there are more models of different car makes that can compete neck to neck with it, but this one for sure doesn’t look inferior to any of its rivals..

As if the super powerful engine was not enough for an SUV, the model even sports one of the sleekest killer designs in the segment.

2010 BMW X6 M – The Debut

2010 X6 M was released as the high-performance version of the regular BMW X6. Styled as a hatchback and packed with high adrenaline engine, the model is nothing but a lot of fun.

Under the Hood

It runs on 4.4L powerhouse V8 engine, which generates power levels in excess of 555 hp @ 6000 rpm and torque of 500 ft-lbs. @ 1500 rpm, mated to six-speed automatic gearbox along with manual shift paddles.

The high speed handling is extraordinary and X6 M manages to give a very lively ride.

The all wheel drive model is equipped with the latest techno gadgets and it can offer city limit mileage of 12 mpg and highway mileage of 17 mpg.

We could have appreciated a little extra cargo space and a better fuel economy; otherwise the model is value for money. The price of used 2010 X6 M is close to $75,000.

Yes, it is a fun ride, but for the rich and famous.

2011 BMW X6 M

The latest 2011 X6 M variant remains completely unchanged, when compared to its predecessor. It offers amazing acceleration and even better handling; the brakes are firm and strong.

We expected a bit of extra cargo space this year, but that doesn’t seem like an immediate concern!

Overall, it continues to be as good as it was last year. The MSRP of 2011 BMW X6 M is $89,200. The pricing reaffirms the fact that it is possibly still a dream model for the non-business class users.

The Upcoming 2012 BMW X6 M

Not much has been officially revealed about 2012 X6 M yet, but again we are not expecting any drastic changes in 2012 version.

We only hope to see a more spacious interior with sufficient cargo space and may be the added seating capacity for extra couple of passengers. The pricing of the model too is not speculated to shoot up by more than a couple of hundred dollars.

The new BMW X6 M model is more of an extension to the previous X6 and less of an individual identity; having said that, some of the goodies it offers, are absolute best in the segment.
