Chevy Malibu was revamped last year, and now 2012 Malibu concept promises that it’ll sport much more than just a new dynamic shape.
While there’d be several changes, 2012 Malibu would share its underpinnings with Buick LaCrosse.
It will be produced with 6-speed auto transmission, and front-wheel drive train, with a wider track to improving its cornering capabilities as well.

But, it’ll remained largely unchanged under the hood, as the 169-bhp 2.4L inline-4 base engine will be continued to be offered along with the sporty 3.6-liter V-6 engine that delivers 252-bhp.
EPA gas mileage ratings are 22/33 mpg for 4-cyl engine, and 17/26MPG for the V-6 variants.
Malibu has been General Motor’s best-selling car marking a record high sales of 200,000 units in 2010. And, since it’s doing so well, it makes perfect sense that GM may not want to make too many drastic changes, but at the same time, keep improving it, so as to be able to compete with its rivals.
2012 Chevy Malibu Concept is basically targeted at younger buyers, and its athletic new shape would certainly help the motto!
