The brand new 2010 CL surfaces up!

The latest CL model from the house of Mercedes Benz is a full-sized class tourer manufactured in Germany. The name Mercedes Benz means Light Comfort in English or Leicht comfort in German language, and all their luxury cars have truly justified their nomenclature.

The 2010 Benz CL is originally based on the roadster SL and this model is based on the S-Class sedan in particular. At first, this model was called as SEC and later as S-Coupe. The CL model is continued to be manufactured in the same design as that of S cycle and is made available with small modifications such as shorter wheel base and smaller engines.

For the model year 2010, Mercedes Benz renamed its product. The model CL-Class couple will be now known as the S-Coupe. The close competitor to this model is BMW 8 series coupe, which would discontinued pretty soon. The performance based 8 series had back passenger volume as that of CL, confined 2+2 seating space. The CL model is one of the vehicles in full-sized coupe along with luxury accommodation and engine power.

At present, the CL model is made available in four models namely CL500, CL63 AMG, CL600 and CL65 AMG. The price range of the model in the year 2009 varies from $108,775 to $204,575. The parent company of the Mercedes Benz happens to be Daimler AG. The vehicle was released for the first time in the year 1998, and has been extremely successful in the market. The vehicle is assembled in Sindelfingen, Germany.

The chassis of the CL model W126 used in CL is same as that of used in SEC Class models during the period 1981 to 1991. Even SEC chassis was a replacement to the model R107 series with rear seat and fixed roof. The SEC Class models came in 4 types in first generation namely, 380 SEC, 500SEC, 420 SEC and 560 SEC. Like all the following models, the volume of the SEC for the rear passengers was very large enough to categorize them as sedan 2- door by the SAE.

The third generation model from the Mercedes Benz’s CL is W215 chassis. It is produced based on the Mercedes Benz S- Class model. It is also available in four models namely CL600 powered with V12, CL55 AMG powered with V8, CL500 powered with V8 and CL65 AMG powered with bi- turbo V12. The model CL63 AMG powered with V12 was sold only in the year 2001 and all the models are provided with four seats.

The CL coupe model is equipped with latest Mercedes Benz technology and it has always been the first model to acquire innovative technological features. The Mercedes-Benz CL is counted amongst the most luxurious cars in the world.
