The exciting 2010 S60 unleashed!
The new 2010 S60 model from the Volvo group will debut at the Detroit Auto Show that will be held in the month of July, 2009 as a preview to the expected 2010 Volvo S60 model vehicle. The vehicle falls under the category of the sedan model.

The vehicle looks similar to that of the VW Passat CC and the Mercedes CLS with a short rear deck and the long hood. The grille in the vehicle will be larger and the two LED lamps flanks at the either side. The rectangular diffuser beneath the vehicle adjusts the speed of the vehicle, giving the S60 vehicle better fuel economy and the better aerodynamics.

The interior design of the vehicle comes with the four seating capacity, and the gear shifter. The gear shifter in the vehicle will be in horizontal position when the vehicle is in the automatic mode and can be vertically rotated when the driver selects the manual shift mode and in the reverse hinge the rear doors open, providing the better ease of entry and to view better. The S60 comes with the 1.6 liter Gasoline Turbocharged Direct Injection engine that produces 180 horse powers and the engine is aided by the power shift system, usually a DSG clutch transmission.
The other features in the new S60 may include (not yet officially confirmed by Volvo):
• Electric power assistance steering
• Start and stop technology
• DRIVe mode
• Grille shutter
• Auto Brake System
• Active Cruise Control System
• Camera

The DRIVe technology in the S60 limits the number of mechanical and the electrical units being run for saving the fuel. The grille shutter acts as a panel to reduce the drag when there is no need for cooling the air. The expected effective mileage by the vehicle is 47 miles per gallon and keeps the emission of carbon dioxide under 120 grams per kilo meter.
The safety features like the Collision Warning system along with the Auto brake System and the Active Cruise Control System are expected to come along with the model S60 that is yet to release in the year 2010.
The Collision warning system in the vehicle uses radar, camera and the control unit to eliminate the pedestrian collisions at the speeds below 12 miles per hour and also applies brakes at high power in order to decrease the impact of collisions in the emergency cases when no input is selected by the driver in the vehicle. The coupe-inspired lines that gave the original S60 model its characteristic attitude are even more pronounced in the coming generation.

As stated by the Stephen Odell, the CEO and president of Volvo Cars, “The all new S60 model will be one of the strongest players in a sector where the competition will be sharp and heavy”. The sporty design model in the vehicle gives an enthusiastic appearance and the driving features providing in the vehicle are better than any other models launched by the Volvo group. Overall the S60 will provide a much better and the safer drive.
